Day 1: walks around the campsite
Between two tanning sessions, discover the Vendée department. For two, with family or friends, discover the treasures of the region. There is no shortage of activities, you will not have time to get bored.
First awakening at the campsite Les Vagues, today it will be a discovery day of the surroundings. With this weather, you don’t want to take the car. A walk in the fresh air will do you a world of good. The day’s route is ready, all you have to do is pedal!
To get the most out of this experience, we recommend that you bring :
- cap
- sun cream
- a picnic that makes you happy
- a few water bottles filled with water
- a good pair of sneakers
- and above all, a good motivation
Your journey begins at the campsite. Meet at the Dolmen de la Pierre Levée. A monument of the Neolithic period with a somewhat surprising legend.
After crossing a few paved and sandy roads, you are at the ocean’s edge, at the Normandelière beach. First stop to admire this expanse as far as the eye can see and the waves that explode against the sand. Wouldn’t this be the perfect place to put down your towel and have a picnic?
A little further on, lovers of historical heritage will be able to admire the Stèle du Marais Girard built in 1954 on the ruins of a house dating back to 1756.
Pedaling to Sauzaie, you will ride along the rocky coast.
A second stop is necessary to admire the rock Sainte Véroniquewhich stands like a stake.
Continuing your journey, you will pass along one of the most beautiful dunes in Europe; the dune of Sauzaie.
After this day rich in discovery, your calves deserve a little rest…
End your walk with a culinary discovery
Don’t leave the Vendée without having tasted some of the local specialties and products. At the end of the cornice, stop at Les Viviers de la Corniche to buy oysters, mussels, lobsters, crabs, shrimps*…
