Family escapade around the lake of Jaunay…
At only 20 minutes from the campsite, we propose you an excursion around the lake of Jaunay. For this day placed under the seal of nature, you will need to provide :
- A pair of sneakers or hiking boots
- Something to protect you from the sun
- A gourmet basket to eat on the shores of the lake
- A bathing suit for the second part of the program
- Water, lots of water and a good physical condition (optional)
Take the direction of Saint Julien des Landes and go to the place called “La Baudrière”.
To discover the Lac du Jaunay, this 114-hectare protected natural area, the best way is to walk around it. And it’s a good thing because there is a marked out hike of about 8 kilometers that will allow you to do so.
This route does not present any major difficulty, however it should be noted that you may encounter some slightly steeper areas, hence the importance of being properly shod.
This sanctuary hosts a fauna and flora that nature lovers will enjoy observing. The observatory bridge is a strategic point for this. It is located at the Moulin des Rochelles.

and afternoon on the water…
After a well deserved break, we suggest you to join the nautical base of Baudrière to rent a canoe or a pedal boat. It’s a fun way to discover this magnificent nature reserve. In general, children love it!
You will choose the format that suits you best, i.e. 30 min, 1h or 2h walks.
As for the rates, they depend on the duration and the choice of the boat. They range from 12 € to 40 €.
Good to know:
If you have a paddle or your own canoe, you can use them.
There is a formula called “Happy Hour” which allows you to benefit from a 50% discount if you board from 10am to 12pm from Monday to Friday.
At the end of this busy day and before returning to your home, you will have the opportunity to sip a drink or enjoy an ice cream at the place called La Baudrière.
