The islands

Discover the jewels of the Vendée: the island of Yeu and the island of Noirmoutier!

Yeu

Set sail to the island of Yeu and discover breathtaking landscapes. This island is accessible only by sea or air.

With an area of 23 km², you can easily discover it by bike. It has a coastal path that will allow you to walk along the ocean.

Its cliffs as far as the eye can see give it an air of Irish coast. At the bend of a path, on the tip of a cliff, discover the old castle.

After a few kilometers with a breathtaking view of the ocean, the rocky coastline gives way to a more sandy coast. This is where you can put your towel down for a break.

And then, at the end of your walk, you will be back in Port Joinville. A haven of peace with the typical colors of fishing ports.

Noirmoutier

Or the island of Mimosas.
To
get there, I advise you to take the famous passage of Gois. This road is submersible by the ocean and is only accessible during low tides. You can also take the bridge that connects the island to the mainland.

Start by discovering the Bois de la Chaise site. A beautiful sandy beach with clear water that will make you want to swim. Lay down a towel among the pines and oaks and picnic in this natural wilderness setting.

Then, destination the downtown area lined with typical white houses with blue shutters.

Noirmoutier is also known for its culinary specialties: seafood, its salt and its famous potatoes, will make your taste buds quiver.

These two very different islands have one thing in common: they offer breathtaking landscapes.
These are essential parts of your stay at the campsite Les Vagues in Brétignolles sur Mer!
